To mark the International Year of Forests in 2011, the youth magazine Les Belles Histoires, published by the Bayard Group and the National Forest Office in France launch a major call for projects: the New Talent Award . Created at the initiative of the Lucky Stories in partnership with the French National Forestry Office, this award aims to discover and support new authors and illustrators who, inspired by their treatment and rigorous language and the image, leave a mark "sustainable" in the field of literary and artistic creation intended for children 4 to 8 years. Projects will be reviewed by a panel of media professionals, children's publishing and NFB. The author and illustrator winners will each be awarded a lump sum of 7,500 euros for the publication of their joint creation in the magazine Les Belles Histoires in April 2012 and two trips orchestrated by the NFB and its forest guides, who will take an exceptional discovery in the wilderness. New Talent Award Les Belles Histoires / NFB is open to all in France and French speaking Belgium , until 1 March 2011.
The concept is simple: candidates should submit a narrative fiction novel or
an original illustration of a history-themed trees, forest, nature.
